The Director
Jared is the founder and creative director of Untold Productions, a film production company located in Boston, MA. In late 2006, Untold Productions teamed with Radical Media for Jared to direct a feature-length documentary, called Captive Beauty – a film about a beauty pageant in an all female prison in Medellín, Colombia. Earlier that year, Jared directed his first feature-length documentary, Road to the Big Leagues, for Element Productions. In 2007, Boston Globe Magazine honored Jared by selecting him as their "Best New Filmmaker" in their yearly "Best of the New" issue. Jared studied film at the University of Colorado-Boulder with experimental filmmaker Stan Brakhage.
The Film
Another banner year for violence in Boston. Despite desperate attempts from the city to get things under control nothing seems to be working. November is a short film that personalizes this epedemic. The film follows a local drug dealer and his younger brother as they manipulate the gun buy back program in an elaborate get rich quick scheme. Unfortunately, the good times don't last long and in the end, another innocent life in Boston is lost.
